Sunday Worship in church - Covid Information

Worship in Church - COVID guidance and practices at St Andrews - updated March 2022

Currently there is no additional legislation covering worship in church.  However, mindful that some of us are more vulnerable than others and that throughout the pandemic we have always tried to keep everyone as safe as possible,  we  the following precautions will also remain in place.

  • We are asking that you gel your hands when etering the church.
  • We are asking everyone to continue to wear a mask and to sanitise their hands when they arrive.
  • During the Peace we will ask people to remain where they are and give everyone a sign of peace by waving and smiling for example.
  • The congregation will continue to receive only the bread during Communion.
  • The priest will stand on the step of the nave to give the congregation the bread.  People will receive Communion or a blessing by forming a single line down the central aisle and once they have received the bread, they will return to their seats in a one way system along the side aisles.
  • The sides-persons will guide people to ensure that we are well spaced apart. Before people receive the bread, they will be given hand sanitiser.
  • If you wish to be seated in a “video free zone” please let the sides-persons know when you arrive.
