Children on Sundays

Children and young people are very welcome at St Andrew’s.

In our communion services the young people begin the service with the adults and then go out for their age appropriate teaching.  They come back into the service during the Eucharist (or Communion) and stay for the rest of the service.  For our All Age services children stay in church although the crèche facility is still available.

Creche (0-4 years)

The crèche is for babies and pre-school children where there will be a story and a range of craft and play activities.

 Sunday School (5 upwards)

The Sunday School aims to help children and young people learn about Jesus and the Christian faith in ways that are easy to understand.  We encourage everyone to think about their own beliefs, thoughts and feelings and to respect the views of other people.  Learning about Jesus should be fun and the Sunday school leaders plan a variety of activities which the young people can enjoy.  There are groups for different ages and all young people are welcome at our Sunday School.

All our children’s activities are run in accordance with the Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding policy and those working with children will have had a DBS check.
